Vital Proteins Collagen: The Life Changing Supplement You Need to Start Taking Every Day

Disclaimer: As a blogger, I only promote brands or products that I 100% believe in and personally use myself. I do not really buy into protein powders or a lot of supplements beside a Whole Foods multi vitamin and probiotics, but I am hooked on Vital Proteins Collagen. I use it everyday because the results are real and it is completely natural. Vital Proteins is a quality company that delivers a great product to consumers, and I must share how their collagen has helped my family and I's health. I will also show you how I incorporate collagen into my daily routine. Let's begin!

What is collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies. Skin, hair, muscles, nails, joints, tendons, and bones all contain a lot of collagen. Collagen is made up of amino acids such as glycine and proline which are also present in our internal organs. Many of the amino acids in collagen are not present in meat, and thus most people do not get adequate amounts of these beneficial amino acids in their diets.

What are the benefits?
Although collagen is used as a featured ingredient in many beauty products, it does not do much for the skin. This is because the molecules are too big to be absorbed by the skin. Therefore, collagen is most beneficial to the body when consumed as a dietary supplement. By adding collagen powder to your diet, you can glow with health from the inside out.
After one week of using collagen for the first time, I already noticed drastic results. My skin became a lot smoother, shinier, and developed a healthy glow. I have now been using Vital Proteins collagen for more than 3 months and my hair and nails have grown noticeably stronger. I also find that my muscles recover very quickly after a run. I am not the only one in my house to experience such benefits. My father previously had joint pain in his knee but swears that the collagen combined with regular exercises to help strengthen his knee, has healed him. My mom also loves the results she has had. The collagen has helped give her skin a beautiful glow.

The Best Brand: Vital Proteins
Vital Proteins Collagen is an excellent source of high quality complete protein. It has 18 g of protein per serving.
Ditch the sugar laden highly processed protein powder for this nutritionally rich, natural supplement. All of Vital Proteins Collagen powders have minimal ingredients. For example, the grass fed beef collagen contains one ingredient: Bovine Hide Collagen Peptides.
Another reason why I only buy my Collagen from Vital Proteins is because they source their Collagen from healthy animals. Their collagen comes from grass fed, pasture raised bovine hides from Brazil.

I admire that Vital Proteins has a purpose that goes beyond making money by selling their product. They have the intent of helping people make the most out of their day by feeling their best. In a world full of processed foods stripped of nutrients and full of sugar and chemicals that mess up our systems, Vital Proteins seeks to deliver a quality product that delivers amino acids and vital nutrients that have been largely stripped out of our food.
Why undergo cosmetic surgery or unnatural procedures to change your skin and your appearance when you can glow from the inside out by actually taking care of your health? Vital Proteins poses this question to consumers and provides a quality product to help them feel their best. This is the kind of company I admire… one that makes a positive difference in the world.

Convenience and Variety

Vital Proteins collagen comes in many different varieties. If you choose not to consume any beef products, they also have Marine collagen from wild caught fish raised in Hawaii.

I love that they have made convenient to go packets that are single serve and perfect for when you are rushing out of your house. As a soon to be college student, I really appreciate the to go packs because I can quickly grab one, rip it open and easily add it to my water, tea, oatmeal, or smoothie.

Besides the fish and bovine beef collagen, Vital Proteins also offers grass fed beef gelatin, Probiotic Beauty Greens Collagen, and more

Probiotic Beauty Greens Collagen

I was able to try the Probiotic Beauty Greens Collagen from Vital Proteins and have fallen in love.
The ingredients are super powerful, consisting of alfalfa, wheat grass, coconut water, Collagen, probiotics, and more. There is no added sugar, preservatives, or anything artificial.
I love that there is a probiotic added because it really enhances digestion and improves gut health, which is the cornerstone of overall health.

How I Use Collagen
There are endless ways to use collagen powder. Here are some simple ways I incorporate it into my diet every day.

Green Tea
I add one to two scoops into my daily cup of tea in the morning.

Oatmeal
I love adding a scoop or two into my
oatmeal for breakfast. The collagen doesn't have any flavor so it blends seamlessly in with the oats and even makes the oatmeal have a better, more pudding like consistency.

Blueberry Collagen Oatmeal made with Vital Proteins grass fed bovine hide Collagen

Pasta Sauce or Salad Dressing

You can stir in a scoop of collagen into your pasta sauce as it's cooking in the pan or add it to salad dressing. I like to stir it into my pasta sauce as I heat up the sauce and then pour over some freshly made zoodles.

Smoothies and Smoothie bowls

All smoothies made with unflavored
Collagen

Grain free Pancakes and Waffles

Eggs, Frittatas, Omelettes
Scrambled Eggs cooked with 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen

Those are just a few ways I use collagen in my every day life. The recipes for the above foods can be found in my other blog posts and in my Instagram posts on my @gottoglow account. I hope you get yourself some collagen and get glowing from the inside out!
I can't wait to post more recipes and get more creative with how I use my collagen. I'm thinking of incorporating it into some delicious and natural baked goods.

Protein Packed Paleo Coconut Flour Pancakes

Hello there! Today I am going to be sharing the recipe for protein packed paleo coconut flour pancakes. They are legit πŸ”₯

These pancakes are not only delicious and nourishing, but they are so quick and easy to make.

Recipe (Makes 1 single serving)

1 ripe banana 🍌

1 tbsp organic coconut flour

1/4 tsp organic baking powder

1 tsp organic vanilla extract

2 organic cage free eggs

Avocado oil cooking spray to coat the pan

Toppings shown above

Mixed berries and a fig with a splash of Rose Water and a dash of cinnamon

Method

In one bowl, mash the banana 🍌 and then add in the two eggs and the vanilla.

Then, in a separate bowl add the dry ingredients and mix those together. Combine both the wet and dry ingredients together and put about 1/3 cup of batter at a time onto the avocado oil or coconut oil sprayed pan.

Flip those babies over when they are golden brown.

For me personally, I don’t consume any added sugars. If I wanted my pancakes to taste a little more sweet since I do not add any syrup, I sometimes put some organic canned peaches in 100% fruit juice on top. The fruit juice acts like syrup but tastes way better and is full of vitamin C. Date syrup is another awesome option.

If you choose to consume sugar but want a healthier option, I recommend honey or coconut nectar.

Most times I am more than satisfied with just some rose water, spices and fresh berries on top ! πŸ˜‹

Why are these pancakes better than your average pancake mix?

The average store bought pancake mix is packed with sodium, preservatives, and bleached flour. All of these ingredients can lead to inflammation, high blood pressure, skin breakouts, and so much more. This forces our bodies to work harder in order to get rid of these toxins. Instead, help your body get stronger by feeding it foods that aid in detoxification and growth.

This recipe is packed with protein for hair, skin, nails, and muscle growth.

Coconut flour boasts a wide range of benefits:

  • High in medium chain fatty acids which help to speed up metabolism, energize the body, and regulate blood sugar levels
  • Has the ability to lower the bad LDL cholesterol
  • Packed with fiber. Fiber is not digested, but rather passes through the digestive system and brings toxins along with it. This is why coconut flour is detoxifying.
  • Gluten free
  • Unlike wheat and other grains, coconut flour does not contain phytic acid, a toxin that inhibits nutrients from being absorbed by the body. Instead, it is full of trace minerals that are easily absorbed.

The benefits of coconut flour, bananas, eggs, and rose water are so numerous.

I hope you enjoy this recipe in good health. Let me know how you like it in the comments below ❀️ Got to glow for now!✨
